Buffalo Wild Wings adds new premium spirits option
While America’s Sports Bar always has an iced-cold, draft beer waiting, now Buffalo Wild Wings is serving a premium spirits option that is getting a lot of attention. Following the success of the Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Select Bourbon, BWW has added Corazón Reposado Tequila and it is shaking up the bar program.
Aged in Hand Selected Buffalo Trace Barrels bourbon barrels, the nuanced Corazón Reposado Tequila has notes of vanilla, caramel and even a hint of chocolate. Combined with a slight oakiness, the flavor is delightful sipped neat or mixed into a cocktail.
David McPhillips, Director of Beverage Strategy & Innovation for Buffalo Wild Wings, said “People might not view us as a proper bar for mixology and cocktails just yet, but we’re changing those perceptions with each new beverage addition.” This concept proves that sports fans want options. Just because a cold beer might be refreshing during that first quarter of the big game, a celebratory liquor might be the perfect toast to cap off the event.
When thinking about this tequila, it shows that the Mexican spirit can be paired with food other than a just taco or a burrito. Given the Corazón Reposado Tequila depth of flavor, it stands up to a hearty burger or some spicy chicken wings. In many ways, it invites guests to step outside the comfort box and appreciate a new food and beverage experience.
To highlight the new addition, Buffalo Wild Wings has introduced a new cocktail. The Branch Water cocktail features Q Mixers seltzer water. The limited time option is highly effervescent. While the touch of lime enhances the flavor of the tequila, the clean, crisp taste of the Q Mixers allows all the flavors to come through in each sip. Although this cocktail is a limited-edition item, it might be one that guests request to become permanent.
Whether guests try the Corazón Reposado Tequila neat, in the Branch Water cocktail or even in a classic margarita, the new beverage offering should not be missed. Don’t worry about the beer. It will still be iced cold and ready for the next visit, but sometimes a new experience is meant to be savored.
