Corazón Single Estate Tequilas, San Matías Gran Reserva Tequila Named “Chairman’s Trophy Finalists” at Ultimate Spirits Challenge
In total, eight tequilas from Casa San Matías receive top honors
Chicago, IL (April 26, 2017) – Corazón Tequila expressions received six of the eight total awards presented to Casa San Matías at the 2017 Ultimate Spirits Challenge. Of those eight awards three tequilas from the Distillery were named “Chairman’s Trophy Finalists,” Corazón Reposado, Corazón Añejo and San Matías Gran Reserva Extra Añejo.
Another one of those eight highly honored tequilas was San Matías Tahona Blanco, which, in its first competition since its launch in December, was designated as “Excellent, Highly Recommended.”
Awarded as “Extraordinary, Ultimate Recommendation” was:
· Corazón Reposado 100% Agave Tequila
Those awarded the distinction of “Excellent, Highly Recommended” were:
· Corazón Blanco 100% Agave Tequila
· Corazón Añejo 100% Agave Tequila
· San Matías Gran Reserva Extra Añejo 100% Agave Tequila
· San Matías Tahona Blanco 100% Agave Tequila
Awarded the distinction of “Very Good, Strong Recommendation” were:
· Expresiones del Corazón Artisanal Blanco 100% Agave Tequila
· Expresiones del Corazón Old Rip Van Winkle Añejo 100% Agave Tequila
Awarded the distinction of “Good, Recommended” was:
· Expresiones del Corazón Thomas H. Handy Añejo 100% Agave Tequila
Corazón Reposado, Corazón Blanco, Corazón Añejo and San Matías Gran Reserva Extra Añejo were deemed to be “Great Values.” Receiving a designation as “Tried & True” was Corazón Blanco and Corazón Añejo.

This competition, in its seventh year, is judged by a panel of the spirit industry’s most renowned judges including award-winning authors, buyers, journalists, educators and bar owners, who rate each spirit on a 100-point scale.
